DIY INSTALLATION

Step 1: Remove your old Shower head

Remove the old shower head using adjustable pliers, it is advisable to wrap the jaws of the pliers with tape or a light cloth to prevent them from scratching the chrome. Remove any old plumber's putty or Teflon tape left on the threads of the shower stem. With the old shower head removed, you can attach the divider.

Step 2: Apply Teflon Tape

Apply some new Teflon tape to the threads of the shower stem to help prevent leaks. When applying Teflon tape, wrap it in the direction that the divider will be tightened. If the tape is wrapped in the opposite direction it may tear when the divider is installed on the threads causing it to have leaks.

Step 3: Install the Standard Hose-Extender

Screw your shower head if you have a two shower head installed, apply Teflon tape to the other neck of the diverter. Attach the hose-extender attachment – with the hand-held shower attachment – to the free neck of the diverter. An attachment that fastens to the shower stem holds the hand-held attachment when it's not in use, and allows it to be positioned as a secondary fixed head.

Step 4: Attach the Diverter

With the Teflon tape applied correctly, attach the diverter to the shower stem by hand-tighten it. if necessary, carefully use a wrench but avoid over tightening.

Step 5: Install the Standard Hose-Extender

Screw your shower head if you have a two shower head installed, apply Teflon tape to the other neck of the diverter. Attach the hose-extender attachment – with the hand-held shower attachment – to the free neck of the diverter. An attachment that fastens to the shower stem holds the hand-held attachment when it's not in use, and allows it to be positioned as a secondary fixed head.
