- It was created by two friends in a bid to tackle dry skin and brittle hair
If you feel like you've road-tested every anti-ageing cream on the market, you may want to turn your attention to your shower.
A newly-launched filter system promises to help banish wrinkles by softening hard water and dispensing antioxidants while you wash.
Priced at £79.99, makers of the Vitaclean claims the device can eliminate up to 98 per cent of chlorine while dispensing anti-ageing Vitamin C onto the skin.
The 'pioneering' portable shower head, which attaches directly to the pipe via a wall mount, was created by two 28-year-old friends from London in a bid to tackle their beauty woes.
Former model Kristina Velkova and tech start-up expert Sara Douglas discovered that hard water was drying out their skin and leaving their hair brittle.
Their youth-boosting shower head, available from vitacleanhq.com, contains aroma oils to enhance relaxation, while optimising water pressure and reducing water consumption by up to 25 per cent.
It also features a microfiber filter cloth designed to trap rust, dirt and other contaminants collected through water piping systems.
Vitamin C is a naturally occurring antioxidant proven to boost the production of collagen, which can help with the appearance of everything from fine lines to crow's feet and even enlarged pores.
Dream team: Former international model Kristina Velkova and tech start-up expert Sara Douglas discovered that hard water was drying out their skin and making their hair brittle
Speaking to MailOnline FEMAIL about their creation, Kristina and Sara said: 'After spending most of our earlier twenties travelling and working in various cities and countries, we picked up on a recurring problem: hard chlorinated water was making our skin dry and our hair very brittle.
'We looked into easy-to-install shower water filtration systems only to discover that majority were expensive and hard to install and non-friendly to the renters.'
